Speaking of a mom who breastfed three children, I appreciate maternity clothes and clothes for nursing moms that don’t make one look like one is wearing a potato sack. I was out this morning getting my nails done – it was crazy out there today too. I guess the day before Thanksgiving isn’t the best day to run errands. For some reason she thinks that a pregnant woman can wear normal fitted tops. My sister just had a baby in September and even though her tops were fitted they had to be maternity or she couldn’t fit into them. Crazy Lady couldn’t handle the fact that today women have cute clothes choices when pregnant and they aren’t forced to wear huge sacks anymore. Crazy Lady just didn’t get it. It is possible to be pregnant or nursing and have hip clothes. Today’s nursing bras allow women to breast-feed indiscreetly and comfortably. Fashion for pregnant and nursing women has come so far – even since I had my daughter 10 years ago. It is a much needed improvement, regardless of Crazy Lady’s opinion. I actually think the fitted tops look much better on pregnant women vs. the huge baggy shirts that make you look like a tent. My sister is still nursing and she has found some adorable outfits and undergarments to accommodate her ample chest. There is even lingerie available for pregnant mothers. I think this is so fantastic because I know it’s hard not to feel like a beached whale while pregnant (at least I did!).

It’s finally official. Hubby and I are finally trying to get pregnant. For the past couple of years we’ve been in that “if it happens we’re ready” state of mind, but only recently have we actually decided it’s time to start trying. Well, I decided a long time ago, but he only decided recently that he’s really ready. I look at it like I’m 26 now, and I really want to have a family. Sure the puppy and the cat are great, but there’s nothing like having a baby in the house. I’ve always said I wanted to have my kids by 30, and if we start now there’s a good chance of that still happening because I want 2 kids. Now I’ve just got so much to think about. There’s the prenatal stuff to keep up with like taking my extra vitamins and folic acid to make sure if I do get pregnant my body is prepared. Once I find out I’m pregnant I’ll have to start buying maternity clothes, and then there will be baby items, and eventually I’ll have to worry about clothing that will allow me to nurse. I might not be the most stylish person out there, but I want to make sure when the time comes and there is a baby in the house that I can still be comfortable enough yet stylish while caring for it.
